THE INVISIBLE BRIDGE

From Abstinence To Parenthood

Lakelands Lifeline, in conjunction with Hold Out the Lifeline, Carolina Health Centers, and CrossRoads Pregnancy Center held a "Time Out" on Teen Pregnancy, on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Christian Family Services, A Place for Us, Self Regional Healthcare, The Food Bank of Greenwood County, and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, helped enlighten and strengthen those in attendance. Preparations are underway for the 2010 Teen Pregnancy Prevention Forum. The next meeting is currently TBA so please check back often as this information is updated. We look forward to working with you!

Teen pregnancy is an important issue. There are health risks for the baby and children born to teenage mothers are more likely to suffer health, social, and emotional problems. Women who become pregnant during their teens have an increased risk for complications, such as premature labor and socioeconomic consequences as well

TOBACCO CESSATION AND YOU

The South Carolina Tobacco Collaborative supports a variety of community programs designed to help adult smokers quit. By serving as a referral source to these programs and participating as workshop providers, we support cessation efforts with the goal of reducing our state’s 22% adult smoking rate.

The benefits of quitting smoking will continue to improve your health and quality of life for years.  It is never too late to quit smoking.
